Lead Capture — Turn Visitors into Contacts
Lead Capture — Turn Visitors into Contacts
Botaura automatically identifies when a visitor is interested in your products or services and gently collects their contact information. No forms, no popups — just a natural conversation.
How It Works
The bot analyzes every message for buying intent — keywords and phrases that signal a customer is interested. When the intent score is high enough, the bot starts collecting contact info naturally within the conversation.
Intent Detection
The bot understands intent in English, Urdu, and Hinglish:
- English: "I want to buy", "what's the price", "how to order", "book an appointment"
- Roman Urdu: "mujhe chahiye", "kitne ka hai", "order karna hai", "mangwa do"
- Urdu Script: "قیمت کیا ہے", "مجھے چاہیے", "آرڈر کرنا ہے"
The intent score ranges from 0 to 10. Different business types have different trigger keywords — an e-commerce store detects "order" and "delivery", while a restaurant detects "booking" and "reservation".
When Does Lead Capture Trigger?
Lead capture ONLY fires when:
- The bot gave a high-confidence answer (not a fallback/unsure response)
- The intent score is 7 or higher
- The visitor hasn't already been captured in this session
Important: The bot never asks for contact info when it couldn't answer the question. This prevents annoying visitors who are already frustrated by an unhelpful response.
The Collection Flow
When triggered, the bot follows a natural conversation flow:
Step 1: Name
The bot asks for the visitor's name in context — for example, after answering a product question: "I'd be happy to help you with that! Could I get your name so our team can follow up?"
Step 2: Phone
After getting the name: "Thanks, Ali! What's the best phone number to reach you?"
Accepts Pakistani formats (0312-XXXXXXX, +92312XXXXXXX) and international numbers.
Step 3: Email
Finally: "And your email address? (You can skip if you prefer)"
Visitors can type "skip" or "nahi" to skip the email step.
Mid-Capture Questions
If a visitor asks a question in the middle of the lead capture flow, the bot answers it first, then comes back to the pending question. The conversation never feels forced.
What Happens After Capture
- Lead saved — name, phone, email, intent score, source page, and timestamp are stored
- Email notification — you receive an email with the lead details and a link to your dashboard
- Dashboard entry — the lead appears in Dashboard → Leads
Viewing Your Leads
Go to Dashboard → Leads to see all captured leads:
- Name, Phone, Email — the collected contact info
- Intent Score — how interested the visitor was (higher = more likely to buy)
- Source — "web" for website widget, "whatsapp" for WhatsApp conversations
- Page URL — which page the visitor was on when captured
- Timestamp — when the lead was captured
Filtering
Filter leads by time period: Today, This Week, This Month, or All Time.
CSV Export (Pro+)
Export your leads as a CSV file for use in your CRM, email marketing tool, or spreadsheet. Available on Pro plan and above.
Lead Capture on WhatsApp (Business+)
The same lead capture system works on WhatsApp too. When a WhatsApp customer shows buying intent during a conversation, the bot collects their info the same way.
WhatsApp leads have an advantage — you already have their phone number, so the bot only needs to confirm the name and optionally collect an email.
Tips for More Leads
- Rich knowledge base — the bot captures leads only when it gives confident answers, so better content = more leads
- Product catalog — add your products so the bot can answer pricing questions (high-intent triggers)
- Clear contact info — add your phone and email in business settings so the bot can offer human handoff
- Don't worry about spam — the bot validates phone numbers and email formats, and only captures on genuine intent
